Pine Hill Farm
Pine hill farm is located in the heart of apple growing country in the township of Hemmingford, Quebec, at the foothills of the Adirondack mountains. This hobby farm, sitting on 110 acres, is slowly becoming a small enterprise. We grow our own hay, keep a small organic apple orchard, and manage an extensive forest. We cut firewood, produce various products from the fleece of our animals and accept school groups for nature studies. Les Fibres de Pine Hill produces yarn, batts and rovings, as well as finished felted products. I also give felting workshops and soon will be able to accommodate groups for these workshops on our premises. At the present moment our products can be bought at our farm and at D'Antan General Store, 11 Champlain, Hemmingford, Quebec. About Us
We had always had a dream to live on a farm, and in October 2001, our adventure in farm life began. Within a year or two our direction was pretty much defined, as we had "udderly" fallen in love with sheep. Trying hard to adopt a farmer-like attitude, I felt the animals must serve a purpose. Animals for meat was out of the question, but I found working with the fleece a very "zen" and enjoyable pastime. It has allowed me to find a very satisfying outlet for my creative side. Over the next few years we had the opportunity to acquire some llamas and angora goats, all fitting in with the fleece plan. While I work with the animals, the "in-house-inventor" collects discarded items to create practical new inventions.
